Job Description:
This position is for local residents only.
Fleet Management Role, Central Ontario

Our client, one of Central Ontario's leading privately owned providers of seamless, time sensitive TL and Guaranteed Expedite transportation services across North America has reached the stage in its development as a business where it needs to expand an industry leading operations team in order to attain the desired level of growth. The missing link is a seasoned Fleet Administrative and Compliance team member that can play a pivotal role in taking this function to new standards of performance. The Fleet Supervisor will report initially to the President and have full accountability for all day-to-day administration aspects of the Company's extensive fleet.

  • The successful candidate will have spent 10-15 years in the transportation function with a minimum of 5-7 years in an administrative role overseeing all aspects of driver attraction, selection and training as well as providing for day-to-day governance over the fleet.
  • Accordingly, he/she will possess in-depth knowledge of driver recruitment, bid package processes, vehicle repair and maintenance, MOT/DOT regulations, CSA/FAST approvals, customs/trans border operations, permitting, asset insurance and safety.
  • An ability to communicate effectively and sell their point of view, while standing firm on the need to attain the highest level of professional standards, will be key to gaining the support of both management and operational personnel.
  • Additionally, he/she will be high on perseverance and action orientation, with a proven ability to develop, plan for and implement change in a fast paced, customer-driven motor carrier environment.
  • A demonstrable track record evidencing a commitment to ongoing personal development through participation in or completion of relevant education/training programs such as C.I.T.T. and/or P.Log will be considered an asset as well as earlier experience in the field as a driver or owner/operator.

If you have developed the above skills to a high level, have built sound administrative backbones for TL/LTL motor carrier transportation programs in the past, and are seeking an opportunity to bring your hard won experience to bear in a challenging and growth oriented environment where you can truly make a major difference, then we would like to hear from you to discuss in more detail this next major step in your logistics career.
