Driver / Utility Associate Job Responsibilities:
Drives light and large industrial trucks between company facilities and to/from customer sites. Requires interstate and intrastate driving. Facility and service area is in Connecticut, and requires driving throughout New England area.
Delivers materials to plant locations. Picks up material at customer sites; delivers to appropriate plant locations for service. Delivers completed motors or materials from plant locations to customer sites. Assists in loading/unloading of supplies using applicable tools (hand-trucks, cranes, hoists, etc.).
Performs routine fleet vehicle inspections and maintenance, including washing truck interiors/exteriors, maintaining fluid levels, fueling vehicles, and tracking/scheduling maintenance for fleet vehicles.
Follows all traffic laws and fleet vehicle safety regulations. Maintains safe driving record, follows all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding transportation, shipping, and driving
Under supervision of shop management and other technical shop roles, performs general maintenance and labor tasks.
Handles routine facilities maintenance, shop floor area cleaning, exterior facility maintenance.
Assists technical specialists:
Motor Winder assistant - Sandblasting parts, cryo-cleaning parts and equipment, taping filler to coils, wedging, processing stators after winding.
Mechanic assistant - Dismantling motors and equipment, retrieving parts from inventory, tracking materials used, prepping parts and equipment for mechanics' use.
Driver / Utility Associate Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Must be familiar with the use of hand tools and small power tools/equipment.
Prefer prior experience working in an industrial or commercial setting, performing electrical or mechanical work.
Must have training on or be able to complete training to operate forklifts.
Must be able to lift up to 50lb.
Must be able to work occasional overtime, weekend, and/or holidays to meet customer expectations.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (will vary by job task, but typically includes steel-toe or safety-rated shoes, safety glasses/goggles, face shields, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).
Utility Associate - Misc. Position Details
Day shift (M-F, 7:00am - 3:30pm)
Hourly, FLSA non-exempt role (overtime eligible)
Occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work may be required to support customer demands
